So attorney Reenie is living and working with the big Velma in the sticks, but she is also everywhere that Colter Shaw is working. It is kind of ridiculous that a full time big city attorney drops everything any time Colter calls.
This time she is at a retreat where the wife of her friend disappears. The two gals are madly in love, so Colter is called to track down Gray, the missing wife.
In the mix of oddballs is a guru who gave Gray some drugs and then let her run loose on a construction site. Colter finds some dead bodies at the construction site.
A couple of members of the spiritual retreat's janitorial crew may have been dumping dead workers into the pits that were going to be filled up for construction.
Perhaps some construction companies kill their injured workers instead of getting Workers Compensation Insurance, but it seems like a big reach. The explanation was that since the murdered workers were illegals, nobody would miss them.
When the villains are apprehended, Colter and his lawyer Reenie pat themselves on the back and say, "Now their families will have closure" which is ridiculous since the victims were illegals, the bodies had no identification, and there is no way of knowing who their families are.
